As reported by https://www.northjersey.com/, this year, the native of Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, will debut as a full-time NASCAR driver accompanied by a revival of his most popular television role.
Muniz, 39, will compete in the kickoff to the NASCAR Truck series season Friday night at Daytona International Speedway. The race is part of a series of events leading up to the famed Daytona 500 at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Muniz’s interest in auto racing dates back to his time as a child actor, when he rose to fame as the title character on the Fox sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle” from 2000 to 2006. He also starred in movies such as “Big Fat Liar” and “Agent Cody Banks” before scaling back his work over the past decade to focus on racing.
But Muniz is set to reprise his most notable role this year following a December announcement that “Malcolm in the Middle” would return with four new episodes on Disney+. Original cast members coming back include Bryan Cranston, who went on to portray Walter White in the drama series “Breaking Bad,” and Jane Kaczmarek as Malcolm’s parents.
