Fall for the fabulous foliage, breath in the crisp autumn air, and do some early holiday shopping on Wednesday, October 8, from Noon to 6 PM at the Harvest Moon Market at State Line Lookout on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Stroll along the scenic Palisades on Old Route 9W, a concrete section of highway closed to vehicular traffic, with spectacular views of the Hudson River and beyond. The event is drizzle or shine. Admission and parking are free.
Visit vendors selling local honey, herbal teas, candles, massage oils, soaps, sage bundles, wellness products, skin care, woodcraft, organic banana breads, cupcakes and cookies, plus CBD, vitamin infusions, musical readings, and more. For the hungry, State Line Café will be open until 6 PM. For nature lovers, the State Line Hawk Watchers will be on hand from
9 AM to 4 PM to explain the raptor migration down the Hudson River. For the playful, we’ll have corn hole games. For budding Bob Rosses, Michele Ortlip will offer rock painting. Also on hand will be representatives from Fort Lee Historic Park, Autumn Art Fest on the Palisades, Bergen County Animal Shelter, Bergen County Historical Society, and more of our friends. Vendors and exhibitors are subject to change.
State Line Lookout has its own unnumbered exit from the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway in Alpine, NJ, about 2 miles north of Exit 2 (mile marker 9.1) or by U-turn from the southbound lanes just south of Exit 3.

PIPC was formed under an interstate compact in 1900 to protect the cliffs from destruction by quarries operating along the western banks of the lower Hudson River. As the nation’s first bi-state partnership established to protect and conserve natural lands, PIPC’s role expanded to incorporate state parks and build the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Today, we manage 40 parks and historic sites in NY and NJ spanning over 125,000 acres with nine million annual visitors. Our mission is topreserve natural, historic, and cultural resources, and to provide for their use by the public for recreational and educational purposes.
