New York nonprofit Jonas Philanthropies and Vision To Learn, teamed up on Tuesday, July 27, to deliver 26 pairs of eyeglasses to campers at Hands in 4 Youth’s Camp Vacamas.

“Hopefully this is going to be something that we’re going to carry over year to year to give more of our campers more opportunities,” Bell said. “The kids really appreciated it. They get to pick their own style; their own frames.”

The partnership between Jonas Philanthropies’ Vision Health program and Vision To Learn provides initial screenings and, if problems are detected, a more thorough eye exam.

Throughout the summer, the partnership is set to bring Vision To Learn’s mobile unit to 10 youth camps and programs in New Jersey, including Camp Vacamas. The camp brings children from economically challenged families and communities to sleep-away camp each summer.
